Cheryl Brass
Creator and Program Coordinator

In April 2024, recognizing an unmet need for performance opportunities for musicians, Cheryl created the East Brunswick Symphony Orchestra, a professional orchestra and nonprofit organization. She also established a partnership with the East Brunswick Recreation, Parks & Community Services Department and launched the East Brunswick Community Sinfonia—the ONLY community orchestra in Middlesex County and also offers adult instrumental music classes through the Recreation Department. Conducted by Nate White, the EBSO has performed for thousands and collaborated with many local nonprofits and businesses.

A passionate advocate for volunteerism, she has a long history of community service and is currently member of the East Brunswick Regional Chamber of Commerce Sunshine, Events & Nominating committees and is serving an appointment on the East Brunswick Arts Commission and the East Brunswick Film Task Force. She also is on the Congressional Advisory committee through Art Pride NJ. She is recipient of the 2024-2025 Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award.
Outside of her professional work, Cheryl enjoys playing violin in the East Brunswick Community Sinfonia and cherishes time with her husband and their children. Together, they love attending concerts, Broadway shows, and sporting events. She is an avid runner, regularly participating in 5Ks, and is currently learning Spanish. Cheryl believes that family, friendship, and community service are the pillars of a meaningful life.
