Cheryl Brass
Creator and Program Coordinator
Cheryl Brass created East Brunswick Symphony Orchestra, Inc. to fulfill an unmet need for performance opportunities for musicians in the greater community. By establishing a partnership with the East Brunswick Recreation & Parks Department, Cheryl created adult music classes and instrumental ensembles that are now offered for the community to participate in. In addition, the East Brunswick Symphony Orchestra, the professional ensemble, has performed for thousands, playing before and in tandem with the July 4th Fireworks Show in 2024. Cheryl has produced several concerts and collaborated with nonprofits and local businesses to promote cohesiveness and prosperity throughout the township.

Cheryl holds a BA in Music Education from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam and an MM in Music Education from Northwestern University. A Music Educator in public and private schools, Cheryl has taught Suzuki Violin, Montessori Music, K-12 orchestra and general music in NY, IL & NJ. While raising her children in East Brunswick, NJ, she taught private violin and viola lessons to students from all ages and abilities. She currently performs in the East Brunswick Community Sinfonia!

As a passionate community organizer, she enjoys volunteering and currently serves as the Assemblies Coordinator for the Hammarskjold PTA. As an active member of the East Brunswick Regional Chamber of Commerce, Cheryl serves on the Sunshine Committee. Appointed by the Mayor of East Brunswick, Cheryl also serves on the East Brunswick Film Task Force and the East Brunswick Arts Commission.
