Nate White
Conductor and Artistic Coordinator
Nate White is well-known in the greater NJ area as a freelance double bassist, private teacher, and conductor. He is a graduate of the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University. There he studied double bass with Linda McKnight and conducting with Paul Hostetter.

In 1999, Nate won Grand Prize at the NJ ASTA State Solo Competition and in 2008 he won the Montclair State University Concerto Competition. A gifted soloist, Mr. White has performed solo concerti with several orchestras including New Jersey Youth Symphony, Philharmonic Orchestra of NJ, Doctor’s Society Orchestra of NY and Montclair State University Symphony. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Montclair State University and as a conductor for the NJYS Sinfonia Orchestra.

Nate is the music director and conductor of the Essex County Summer Players Orchestra. Mr. White is also the founder and Artistic Director of Freelance Ensemble Artists of NJ as well as conductor of the FEA Symphony. He frequently performs as a bass player with Allentown Symphony, Garden State Philharmonic, Bravura Philharmonic, Capital Philharmonic of NJ, Staten Island Philharmonic, South Orange Symphony, Eastern Wind Symphony, and Garden State Jazz Orchestra.
